Master of Architecture Graduate Show.
For the second year running, the Studio considered Islands as inherently fragile places while, at the same time, recognising their immense power as places of the cultural and literary imaginations, fantastical aesthetic contradiction, subaltern geopolitical fields, and powerful places of the imagination.
These are some of the reasons why Islands seem so significant – and why we chose to engage new thinking around these places along the West Coast of Ireland this year – developing new types of islands/spaces that similarly hold experimental new types of socio-ecological, biogeographical, and cultural conditions.
