Description:

Choral singing has long been proved to bring health benefits as well as social connection. Cairdeas is a unique choir which was formed in Kilkenny 10 years ago to bring together people from the community living with Parkinson’s disease along with their friends and family.
Though the aims of the choir initially had been to improve the symptoms of Parkinson’s by aiding vocal production, through our weekly rehearsals, we have learned to sing an incredible variety of music, from Medieval to Pop, Folk to Rock, Classical and all things in between. With our specially created musical arrangements and beautiful harmonies, we have sung in Kilkenny’s major concert venues, Canice’s Cathedral, The Set, Medieval Mile Museum etc.
Led by our Choral Director, Ann Moylan, expect the unexpected on Culture Night with an evening of tender harmonies mixed with rock/classical tunes arranged for this very special choir.
