CAIBLEADH – SPIRIT VOICES FROM THE SEA (heard from a distance on calm nights)

Inishowen Carnival Group

Parade & Performances at 8.00pm and 9.00pm. Installation lighting up at dusk.

Caibleadh (pronounced ‘Kabloo’) is a performance installation inspired by Manchan Magan’s book, Sea Tamagotchi, a collection of Irish linguistic coastal treasures. This event includes large sea spirit characters (selkie, sea serpent, sea god and merrow), illuminated sculptures and performances by dance and street performers. The installation will be open to the public from 6pm on Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir 2022.

The ”Caibleadh” installation was made possible with funding from Arts Council of Ireland, Donegal County Council and St. Patrick’s Festival Dublin.
