Bringing Pakistani Culture to Ireland through Art

This exhibition in Kilcullen Library brings together a series of paintings and prints made by Sobia and Jaweria. On Culture Night, the artist will be there to talk about her art work.
Sobia was born in Pakistan and while living in Ireland she intends to integrate the culture of Pakistan with Irish culture. She has made paintings which show the Basant Festival, capturing the old historic Lahore Gate. Using print making techniques, she has created etchings which show the history of 1947 Partition and Great Migration. A few paintings have been done in ancient style of Moghal Era of the 17th century. Jaweria has made works in caligraphy and natural still life paintings.
