Bring to Life: The Human Puppetry Drama Workshop

Galway Theatre Festival

What brings energy to the body? How does the human body move and react to the world around it? Combining Movement, Drama Exercises, and the fundamental elements of Puppetry, participants will explore the human form within the performance space. Using everyday materials, participants will create a puppet and bring it to life as a group. This is an exploratory workshop, introducing the basics of puppetry, so previous drama experience would be beneficial but not essential. We recommend you wear comfy clothes and bring your imaginations (and a bottle of water!). This workshop is aimed at adults and is accessible. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.
Martina is currently a member of Druid Theatre’s Fuel Residency Program, exploring Puppetry in Performance. She has worked professionally with RTE Jr on a variety of shows as a Creative Artist in both Performance and Production and as a Drama Facilitator with the Gaiety School of Acting on their Outreach events and Youth Drama Programming. Martina holds a BA HONS Degree in Drama / ALCM/ Drama Facilitator trained with NAYD.
