Description:

‘Roamer’ is as close as it comes to an Irish contemporary jazz supergroup.

A quartet made up of four friends who emerged onto the burgeoning Dublin jazz scene in the early 2000s, the band members have since made their homes and careers in far flung capitals – New York, London and Berlin included.

The band is comprised of vocalist Lauren Kinsella, now a leading light on the London jazz scene, bassist Simon Jermyn, who recently swapped New York for a new home in Berlin, Cologne-based saxophonist Matthew Halpin, and the only ‘roamer’ currently living in Ireland, drummer Matthew Jacobson.

Culture Night at St Saviour’s Church - itself a magical venue for live music – offers jazz fans a rare opportunity to hear this remarkable Irish group – lyrical, enigmatic, poetic and profoundly original.
