Blacksmith Open Forge Night

Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s College of Further Education and Training, Cappamore Campus is located in County Limerick. It is a designated Centre of Excellence for Blacksmithing Skills and home to Ireland’s only City and Guilds certified training course in Ironcraft and Blacksmith Skills. The campus delivers a range of blacksmithing courses to learners, ranging from complete beginners to more experienced smiths and the centre is dedicated to the preservation of traditional forging methods. On Friday 22nd September 2023, the forge at the campus will open its doors and welcome members of the public to view the facility and to experience a live forging demonstration by Limerick and Clare ETB’s resident master blacksmith Eric O’Neill. Both traditional and modern forging techniques will be demonstrated at the open evening.
