Discover over 300 years of Black history in Dublin on a unique guided walking tour created by design historian, researcher and anti-racism activist Jess Majekodunmi. Presented as part of Culture Night Dublin 2026, the tour traces the often overlooked presence of Black people in the city from the eighteenth century to the present day. 

Drawing on archival research and personal family history, the tour reveals how Black Irish stories are woven into the fabric of the city. The walk follows stories of performers, writers, students and activists whose lives were connected to Dublin’s streets and landmarks. Stops include Temple Bar, College Green, Trinity College, O’Connell Bridge and Grafton Street. 

This two-hour walk offers a fresh perspective on Dublin’s past and highlights the rich diversity that has shaped the capital for centuries.

Two tours will run on Culture Night at 16:00 and 18:30. It covers a compact, walkable route of approximately 2km taking in Christchurch, Temple Bar, College Green, Trinity College, O’Connell Bridge, and Grafton Street.
