Press Photographers Association of Ireland – Award Winners Exhibition
Having seen the Press Photographers Association of Ireland exhibition along Oxmantown Mall (outside, from Monday 13 Sept) please join us for an insightful talk with James Crombie, this year’s Press Photographer of the Year.
James Crombie is a professional sports photographer based in Dublin and has worked with Inpho Photography, Ireland’s largest dedicated sports photo agency, for the past 15 years. Joining Inpho in late 2006 as the winner of the ‘No Experience Required’ TV programme broadcast on RTE, James is the winner of multiple awards at the annual PPAI competition and is currently the PPAI Press Photographer of the Year, which is also only the second time in the 43 year history of the PPAI that a sports photographer has held the honour. Recently James also pictured the now famous ‘murmuration’ photo at Lough Ennell in Westmeath that featured on the front of the Irish Times, was widely used in the UK media and also went on to be shown on various channels around the world too. James has covered British & Irish Lions tours, Rugby World Cups, European Soccer Championships as well as many other Sporting events both home and abroad and recently returned from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
