The Science Centre reveals the wonders of early astronomy, engineering and photography, with a special emphasis on the brilliant design and assembly of the world famous Great Telescope by the 3rd Earl of Rosse. Discover astronomical instruments, photographs and photographic equipment from the mid to late 1800s, and electrical and engineering equipment originally belonging to Charles Parsons, inventor of the marine turbine engine. Highlights of the galleries include a welcome video, hologram of Mary Countess of Rosse and a letter from Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.
The galleries will be open to the public from 18:00-20:00 and visitors are welcome to explore the seven galleries of the Science Centre free of charge. Masks are compulsory, and social distancing measures will be in place. There will be a limit of 6 people in a gallery at any one time (7 galleries).
