Staff at the Central Library have spent the last 30 years gathering every article, book and author associated with Donegal in one library. The result is the Donegal Studies Collection. During this short tour, you will learn about the resources the library has available for you to trace your Donegal ancestors or research the history of the county. See a snapshot of Donegal as it was, from Mícheál Ó’Cléirigh and the Four Masters to poitín making in Inishowen, the lives of Isaac Butt to Daniel O’Donnell and the changing landscape of the county from the first ordnance survey maps of 1835 through to the new A5. Come and see some of the gems in this exclusive collection. This tour will run every 30 minutes from 6pm on Culture Night with a maximum of 10 people.
