Staff at the Central Library have spent the last 30 years gathering every article, book and author associated with Donegal in one library. It’s called the Donegal Studies Collection. During this short tour, learn about the resources available for you to trace your Donegal ancestors or research the history of the county. See a snapshot of Donegal as it was, from Mícheál Ó’Cléirigh and the Four Masters to poteen making in Inishowen. The lives of Isaac Butt to Daniel O’Donnell and the changing landscape of the county from the first ordnance survey maps of 1835 through to the new A5. Come and see some of the gems in this exclusive collection. Tours beginnings 6.00pm, 6.45pm and 7.30pm on Culture Night with a maximum of 10 people.
