Step back in time and rediscover Bantry through the archive collection of renowned local photographer Ian Vickery, whose photographic archive has captured the people, places, events and everyday life of the town over many decades. Ian’s collection forms a remarkable visual record of a changing Bantry, preserving moments that might otherwise have been lost to time.

On Culture Night, Friday, September 18th, visitors are invited to view over 50 photographs from the Ian Vickery Photographic Collection, showcasing familiar faces, community celebrations, local businesses, streetscapes and scenes of daily life from Bantry’s recent past. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to reflect on how the town has evolved while celebrating the people and memories that helped shape its character.

The exhibition will be open until 7.30pm on Culture Night and will remain on display afterwards in the foyer of Bantry Library, allowing the wider community to enjoy this fascinating glimpse into Bantry’s rich social and cultural heritage.
