Solas Bhríde Spirituality Centre invite you to join them and follow in the footsteps of St. Brigid and our Celtic ancestors in their celebration of the Autumn Equinox which this year coincides with Culture Night.
The Celts, being an agricultural people, were acutely attuned to the rhythm of the seasons and marked the Autumnal Equinox as a turning point in the year, a time when the sun rests above the equator and day and night are divided equally. They constructed many sacred sites in alignment with the rising and setting of the sun at equinox times.
On Culture Night, Solas Bhríde will celebrate with music, ritual and poetry, in thanks for the abundance of the harvest as was a Celtic tradition. They will reflect on stories associated with St Brigid, and the challenges they pose for us on how we share our harvest, our food and our resources.
