1st workshop session: 5pm-6:30 pm
2nd workshop session: 6:30pm-8pm

Art making workshop (divided in two sessions of one hour and a half each) for people to explore the mediums of paint, print and clay around the themes of Celtic mythology and biodiversity. Our project focuses on a multi-media exploration of Irish mythology and Ogham alphabet in relation to human’s deep-rooted connection to the natural environment. Celtic mythology celebrates the intrinsic belief that all of nature’s elements, from mountains to rivers, trees to stones, plants to animals and humans, are interconnected. This symbiotic spiritual relationship is embedded in myths and rituals which once formed an essential part of people’s lives. This legacy lives on through Ireland’s active environmental policy making within the European Union.

Ceardlann déanta ealaíne (roinnte ina dhá sheisiún uair go leith an ceann) ina mbeidh meáin na péintéireachta, na priontála agus na cré á n-úsáid ag daoine chun plé le téama mhiotaseolaíocht na gCeilteach agus le téama na bithéagsúlachta. Tá ár dtionscadal dírithe ar iniúchadh ilmheán a dhéanamh ar mhiotaseolaíocht na hÉireann agus ar Ogham mar a bhaineann leis an gceangal domhain atá ag an duine leis an timpeallacht nádúrtha. Déantar ceiliúradh i miotaseolaíocht na gCeilteach ar an tuiscint bhunúsach go bhfuil gach gné den dúlra, idir na sléibhte agus na haibhneacha, na crainn agus na clocha, na plandaí, na hainmhithe agus na daoine, nasctha le chéile. Tá an caidreamh spioradálta siombóiseach seo neadaithe i miotais agus i ndeasghnátha a bhí ina gcuid ríthábhachtach de shaol na ndaoine tráth. Tá an oidhreacht seo coinnithe beo mar gheall ar na beartais chomhshaoil atá á ndéanamh ag Éirinn san Aontas Eorpach.
