An evening of Traditional Crafting

Gort Library will host a showcase of traditional crafting. Visitors will get the opportunity to experience a range of crafting activities including but not exclusively traditional Aran Stitching, Felting, Crochet, Patchworking and Quilting. The crafters will get the opportunity to share the many skills they have learned and to celebrate the part they have in preserving our rich craft heritage. Participants will get the opportunity to view first hand these incredible highly skilled artists at work and to chat to them about how best these crafts can be kept alive. The event will happen in Gort Library, a beautifully restored Church originally built in 1810 and presented to the town in 1972.
