Join members of Mallow Scribes for an afternoon of original prose and poetry inspired by the people, places and stories of our town. The writers will share a diverse collection of self-written pieces exploring a sense of place, from local history and memorable characters to first impressions of the town as an immigrant, as well as recollections of the old cinemas and dancehalls that have shaped the community. The readings will offer a personal portrait of the town through the eyes of those who have made their lives here. Local musicians will perform songs connected with the area throughout the afternoon, and the event will conclude with an open mic, giving audience members the opportunity to share their own poems, stories, memories and reflections. A celebration of local writing, music and community.

Time: 2:30pm – 4:00pm
