Description:

We’re delighted to announce that A Quiet Love will be screened here on 18th September. The film is produced by Seán Herlihy from Renanirree, who many in the area will know. Seán is the first Irish Producer who is also a Deaf Irish Sign Language user, making this an historic and hugely significant achievement – not just for the Deaf community, but for our wider local community as well.

It has already won multiple international awards and had sold-out screenings in Dublin, Cork, Belfast and at festivals around the globe. The film features the remarkable love stories of three Deaf couples: a Deaf boxer and his hearing partner facing a life-altering choice; a same-sex couple navigating parenthood with Deaf and hearing children; and a decades-long, once-forbidden romance – highlighting the unique experience of the Northern Ireland Deaf community during the Troubles. This award-winning film is an emotional, uplifting and authentic portrait of enduring love, featuring an immersive soundscape. “Fascinating, tender, and inspiring“
