Join John Dungan CCÉ for Céilí in the Kitchen, a special Culture Night celebration on 18 September, where the rich traditions of Irish music, song, dance and storytelling come to life in a warm and welcoming community setting.

Inspired by the tradition of neighbours gathering in the kitchen to share tunes, songs, stories and conversation, this event celebrates the heart of Ireland’s cultural heritage. Visitors can enjoy an evening of live performances from talented local musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers, showcasing the vibrant traditions that continue to thrive in Granard and throughout County Longford. Light refreshments will be served in keeping with the Céilí in the Kitchen theme, creating an authentic and relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Granard has played a significant role in the history and development of traditional Irish music, song and dance in County Longford. This event celebrates that proud legacy while highlighting the dedication of today’s performers, who continue to preserve and share these treasured traditions with new generations.

Whether you are a lifelong enthusiast of traditional arts or discovering them for the first time,Céilí in the Kitchen offers something for everyone. Sing along, tap your feet to lively tunes, listen to captivating stories and experience the warmth, hospitality and community spirit that define a traditional Irish céilí.

Come along for an evening of culture, connection and craic as we celebrate our shared heritage as part of Culture Night 2026. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
