A Brief History of the National Bank – Hawksmoor’s Home

Step through the 1920s double doors on College Green and you enter the historic National Bank building which now hosts Hawksmoor, a 152-seat restaurant set beneath the dramatic domed ceiling of the building’s original banking hall, the space celebrates the handsome fabric of the former bank, an ornately detailed Italianate building designed by William Barnes in 1845.
