Culture Night on RTÉ: Celebrating Arts and Culture in Ireland

RTÉ once again celebrated its partnership with and support of Culture Night on Friday 17th September with specially commissioned television performances along with themed programming, content and reports across television, radio, and online services.
A national campaign for Culture Night on RTÉ aired alongside Culture Night’s own campaign, supported under the RTÉ Supporting the Arts scheme.

 

LISTEN: The Lyric Concert with Paul Herriott on RTÉ lyric fm with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and Chief Conductor Jaime Martín will include comedian and chat show hosted Tommy Tiernan narrating the enchanting story of Peter and the Wolf in its definitive telling by Prokofiev.  This was also live streamed on RTE.ie/culture.

 

WATCH: RTÉ One’s, Nationwide  presented a Culture Night Special at 7.00pm on Friday 17th September.

CULTURE NIGHT ON RTÉ HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED:

LISTEN: Arena on RTÉ Radio 1 (7.00pm – 8.00pm) featured coverage of Culture Night projects and events which took place around the country in the days leading up to the night itself.

WATCH: There was a special opening performance on The Late Late Show at 9.35pm on RTÉ One on Friday 17th September.

 

RTE.ie/Culture was a one-stop shop for all things Culture Night.

Later in the evening on RTÉ One, The Late Late Show celebrated Culture Night with a specially commissioned spectacular opening performance. The performance was accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack recorded by RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

As we welcome the reopening of our venues and spaces, this year’s Culture Night provides a unique occasion to acknowledge the richness and diversity of arts, culture and creativity in Ireland as well as the vital role they play in our lives. RTÉ is proud to support with a bespoke Culture Night on RTÉ campaign as well as through our the RTÉ Supporting the Arts scheme, which has been a vital support to the arts and cultural sectors throughout the pandemic.”
